Real Estate action is almost as hot as the weather at Sam Rayburn

July is just about gone and it has seemed to just blow by us. It seems that between our Grand Opening, Vacation Bible School which Christy worked a week of, and our vacation to Argentina, this month was gone in a flash. Trying to balance all of those activities while staying on top of the our business and the area real estate market was tough. I am just now starting to catch up on all our emails and phone calls from being in South America for a week.
We have seen a constant trend in the market here around the lake. That trend is that we have more buyers than we have sellers. Waterfront home sales have been good this summer with several properties selling for over $1,000,000! The waterfront properties just seem to continue to appreciate as the market here on Sam Rayburn shows no sign of slowing down.
We did pick up a new house on the river below the dam this week as well as a golf course home. For those that cannot afford a waterfront house on the lake, the river is a much more affordable avenue while still having a place on the water.
Everyone here at Allman Company, REALTORS wanted to congratulate all the new owners of new Dodge trucks from the recent Dodge Truck Big Bass Tournament. Hey, winners, you know what goes well with a new truck? A new house! Let us help you find a new garage to park that new truck in.
On a serious note - whether you are up for the weekend or you live here at the lake, you really need to be careful and cautious of the heat. It does not take very long at all to become dehydrated and over heated when the temperatures are around the 100* mark. Be sure to drink a lot of water and try to stay out of the direct sunlight. I know that is not always easy when you are fishing, but at least make sure you have a hat and sunscreen on. And for you fishermen out there, if you have not tried the afternoon fishing down on the river this time of year, you are really missing out on some fun action. Be sure they are generating for the better bite. When the current is flowing, the bass will be tucked in behind laydowns and bushes in the water. Use small spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and soft jerkbaits. Reel them past the upriver side of the brush and watch the bass dart out to grab your bait. You can catch a lot of small fish (20 to 80 fish in a trip), and you might even get into a little more shade once you get near the 4pm hour. It makes for a nice change of pace when the lake fishing slows down.
Grand Opening Goes Off Without a Hitch
We had our Grand Opening, July 3rd. We had a fantastic turn out with many people from the community. We have several new listings around the lake. We listed 2 Rayburn Country Condos. Both are on the golf course. We also listed 2 mobile homes in Audobon Hills (Rayburn Country’s MH-1) as well as a home in the Black Forest Community. Check out our website for updates as well.
